Laura was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in a small suburban town 25 miles south of the city. much of her free time as an only-child was spent either in front of a television screen or in a movie theater. It was there that she fell in love with film's ability to completely immerse her in the narrative and take her to a different place entirely.
Wanting an escape from her small town and Always knowing she wanted to move to the City of Angels, she attended Loyola Marymount University and received her Bachelor Degree in Film and Television Production from one of the top ranked film schools in the country.
During her time at LMU she lensed over a dozen thesis films and was awarded the "Ian Conner Cinematography Award" for her work upon graduating.
Laura has worked on a variety of mediums from feature films to short form content to commercials and music videos. She has completed 2 feature films and is currently in pre-production on her 3rd. her most recent clients/collaborators include warner music label, herbal essences, volta, and rockher.
she is particularly drawn to narrative dramas that deal with emotional struggle and explore the complexity of the human psyche. She believes that no story is complete without carefully thought-out camera movement/framing and lighting that elevates the actors' performances and connects the audience to the characters' experience and emotion.
She has been fortunate enough to work with and mentor under Emmy award winner, Tim Suhrstedt, ASC and Mark Weingartner, ASC.
She currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
